App Protection Policies should use Authenticator for Android
As we roll out App Protection Policies to otherwise-unmanaged BYOD across our company, some people refuse to install Company Portal. Whether out of dislike of yet another app, bad reviews about battery drain, concerns about tracking, etc., they simply don't want to do it.
What's even more challenging is people cannot log into the Company Portal app because it only exists to apply APP -- there is nothing else you can do with Company Portal. It's an empty, seemingly non-functional app. While I understand that Company Portal on Android only exists to check basic protection, some users still don't want to install... and I totally get that. It's their device, and it's their choice.
We have no similar complaints about iOS because virtually everyone installs Microsoft Authenticator without a second thought.
If Authenticator could check App Protection Policies on Android like it does on iOS, we'd greatly reduce difficulty in onboarding people. This also might reduce confusion for admins, as I spent a lot of time reading posts like this to understand why it worked differently on each platform: https://techcommunity.microsoft.com/t5/microsoft-intune/why-different-broker-apps-for-ios-and-android-not-enrolled-when/m-p/332758

Allow Intune to revoke ALL VPP (Paid and un-paid) licenses even if they were not assigned by Intune or the device is no longer managed
Intune currently only supports revoking VPP licenses if the device is still managed or the Intune entry still exist. Any other scenarios is not supported and this leaves VPP apps licenes consumed that are never revoked. (https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/mem/intune/apps/vpp-apps-ios#revoking-app-licenses )The current solution is to manually use Apple's API VPP endpoints to revoke the licenses which is time consuming and means customer have to manually interfere with the token. There are multiple scenarios where licenses can be left consumed like:
The device was removed due to a device cleanup rule so a revoke was never issued to al those licenses.
The user manually removed the management profile of the device.
The admin unenroll/retired the device but did not send the "revoke licenses" before hand.
Migrated the token from another MDM with thousands of licenses already consumed. (sometimes paid licenses so money is definetely involved).
When VPP apps have consumed licenses, Intune amdin UI doe snot allow for them to be deleted so clean up is also impacted.
Additionally other MDM's are able to revoke ANY VPP licene (regardless of how it was assigned) as long as the MDM takes over management of the VPP token. this puts feature parity under question.
So Please, allow Intune to revoke ANY VPP license as long as "Take control of token from another MDM" is set to Yes. (it makes management of app licenses su much simpler)
