October 2024 Update
Planner just updated and the option to change the background from basic white is gone. This negatively affects the basic Planner platform experience. Tasks don't stand out and everything just blends in. I also read that coloured buckets are only available in premium - this is just silly. Let people customize.

Background options not available
Hello,
I’d like to raise a concern about the new look of the planner tool. The option to choose the background is no longer available, which is causing readability and accessibility issues. It’s frustrating to have everything in white, and the overall experience has worsened. Similar feedback has been shared in the link below. Please consider adding this feature back.
Thanks!

Restriction on Task Commenting in Planner for Premium Teams Accounts
Microsoft Planner for premium Teams accounts imposes a frustrating limitation: task comments can only be added through a Teams channel, unlike the basic version, where users can comment from any location where Planner is accessed (e.g., web app or mobile app). This restriction disrupts workflows, slows collaboration, and diminishes the usability of Planner for premium users.
Negative Impact of the Current Restriction:
Disrupted Workflows: Users must switch to Teams channels to comment, wasting time and interrupting their flow.
Fragmented Collaboration: Task-related communication becomes scattered across tools, reducing collaboration efficiency.
Diminished Usability: Premium users encounter arbitrary limitations, lowering the perceived value of their subscription.
Frustration and Eroded Trust: Users expect more flexibility from a premium offering, and this restriction undermines confidence in Microsoft Planner.
Recommended Action
Task commenting should be enabled from any location where Planner is accessible for premium Teams accounts. This includes the web app, mobile app, and standalone Planner interface, just as it works in the basic version.
Positive Impact of This Change:
Enhanced Productivity: Seamless commenting from any location reduces context switching and saves time.
Improved Collaboration: Teams can communicate efficiently within tasks, regardless of platform.
Better Premium Value: Aligning functionality with expectations reinforces trust in premium subscriptions.
Consistency Across Tiers: Feature parity ensures a smooth and predictable user experience for all users.
Thank you for considering this feedback.
